Below is printed the Obituary and Memorial Mass announcement for Matt Falcone who recently passed away. 

Matthew J. Falcone of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Chelmsford Bonita Springs, FL Matthew J. Falcone of Bonita Springs, Fl and Hollis, NH, formerly a longtime resident of N. Chelmsford, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 in Bonita Springs, FL. He was born March 9, 1934, in Boston to the late Henry and Josephine (Falcone) Falcone. He had a very loving relationship with his wife Annette (Verrier) and would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in April. He will be remembered by her as her best friend. Matthew was a Korean War Era Veteran in the Air Force, stationed in Alaska. He was a 50 year member of the Sheet Metal Union, Local #17 of Boston and a 3rd degree member of the Chelmsford/Westford Knights of Columbus. He loved to be by the water fishing, sailing, spending hot summer weekends with his family at the beach. He also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in the garden he tendedat his home in Hollis. He learned to play golf when he retired and acquired a love for the sport. As a skilled craftsman, he was always willing to help family and friends with home projects. He truly enjoyed the life he and Annette built for themselves in Bonita Springs and will be sadly missed by all their wonderful friends there and the family he has left behind. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by four daughters, Michelle Ettelson and her husband Steven of Hollis, NH, Donna Hutchins and her husband Michael of King, NC, Debra Szylvian and her husband Ted of Townsend and Dianne Ahlquist and her husband Ron of Brookline, NH; two sons, Matthew A. Flacone and his wife Lisa of Litchfield, NH and Major RobertA. Falcone (currently on active duty in Iraq) of Worcester and his friend Karen Livoli of Acton. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Francis Berube and her husband Donald of Billerica; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by loving daughter Sharon Bayard. FALCONE A Memorial Service will be held on January 3, 2009, at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St, Nashua, NH at 10:00 a.m.  Donations in his memory may be made to The Dana Farber Cancer Institute (skin cancer designated contribution).

Your bill for Membership Dues for 2009 is presented below. In order to save money on postage, this bill has been e-mailed to you.

The Supreme Council has established a fund to support matters affecting life, family, marriage, and similar priorities in building a Culture of Life. . Each council is being assessed $3 per member.

Through your generosity last year the campaign to raise money for the Bishop Ruocco Council Charity Fund was very successful, raising $1590. Typically, at our November social meeting the council donates from $600 to $1500 to charities like Life Links, House of Hope, The Paul Center and KIDS Inc. So that we can continue this tradition, could you help support our charitable efforts by donating $5, $10, $25, or other amount to the Bishop Ruocco Council Charity Fund?

DISABLED? Supreme will waive dues for knights who qualify for Disability Status. Two items, a brief letter from a doctor (or professional care giver) confirming the disability and a short form must be submitted to Supreme through the Financial Secretary. This is a one time submittal for the disabled knight but the Financial Secretary confirms the Disability Status annually. Supreme, State and Council fees are waived. If you are disabled, I urge you to consider applying for disability status.

Below is the death and funeral notice of Reverend Daniel F. Cronin. Rev, Cronin was a Charter Member of the Bishop Ruocco Council, Council 9275, formed on April 19, 1986. It has been requested that a 4th Degree Honor Guard be present as Rev. Cronin lie in state at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. If you are a 4th degree member, and can be available, please let me know what times you will be available.

Rev. Daniel F. Cronin

Rev. Daniel F. Cronin Pastor Emeritus; 86 Haverhill Rev. Daniel F. Cronin, Pastor Emeritus, 86, of Haverhill, passed away Sunday morning, December 7, 2008, in Haverhill. Rev. Cronin was born in Haverhill on June 9, 1922, son of the late Frank and Mary (Kiely) Cronin both of County Cork, Ireland. He was raised in Haverhill, and graduated from St. James High School, Class of 1939. He then attended Boston College for two years and entered St. John's Seminary in 1941. Rev. Cronin was ordained in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston, on June 14, 1946, by His Eminence Richard James Cardinal Cushing. Rev. Cronin had numerous assignments during the more than sixty years of his priesthood that included St. Francis of Assisi Church, Medford, St. Michael Church, Hudson, and St. Patrick Church, Natick. He was then assigned to Cambridge Hospital's School of Nursing where he taught medical ethics for two years. He then served at St. Peter Church, Lowell, until he entered the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was assigned as a Chaplain on U.S. Navy Destroyers, the aircraft carrier USS Champlain, the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Lejune, NC, and the Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, TX. He returned to serve in local parishes after his military service. He was assigned to the Church of Annunciation, Danvers; St. Patrick Church, Watertown; St. William Church, Dorchester and in 1973 he was appointed Pastor of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Westford until his retirement in 1998. He then continued to serve as Pastor Emeritus of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish,. Rev. Cronin felt truly blessed to serve the Lord in all the Parishes as a Roman Catholic Priest of the Archdiocese of Boston. His surviving family members include his loving sisters, Lillian P. Lupi of Haverhill, Mary T. Maddix of Battle Creek, MI, and Eileen M. Breglia and her husband Vincent P. of Methuen; brother of the late Francis Cronin; sixteen nieces and nephews; twenty-six grandnieces and grandnephews; and several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.


CRONIN Concelebrated Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday morning at 10am, December 12, in St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 No. Main Street, Westford. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Calling hours will be Wednesday in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave, Haverhill from 3 to 7pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. On Thursday, December 11, the reception of Rev. Cronin into St. Catherine of Alexandria Church will take place at 3pm. Rev. Cronin will lie in state in St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 No. Main St, Westford, from 3 to 8pm.
